Total Renal Care, Inc. Names Andrea M. Benko Vice President of Corporate Development, Acquisitions and Mergers

    TORRANCE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 17, 1999--Total Renal Care Holdings, Inc. (NYSE:TRL) today announced the appointment of Andrea M. Benko, 43, to Vice President of Corporate Development, Mergers and Acquisitions. Ms. Benko will co-lead Total Renal Care's merger and acquisition teams where she will be focusing on the development of TRL's strategic alliance program with hospitals and non-profit organizations as well as pursuing merger and acquisition opportunities. Ms. Benko will report to Victor Chaltiel, Chairman, President and CEO of Total Renal Care Holdings, Inc.
    Since 1998, Ms. Benko has served as an independent health care consultant to various organizations, including TRL. Ms. Benko served as President and CEO of Florida-based Total Physician Services, Inc., a private HIV physician practice management company, from 1996 to 1998. From 1994 to 1996, she served as President and CEO of California-based Vesicare, Inc., a private physician practice management company with a focus on women's health care.
    From 1990 to 1994, Ms. Benko worked with Mr. Chaltiel in a number of positions, including Executive Vice President at both Abbey Health Care Group, Inc. and Total Pharmaceutical Care, Inc., where she lead the marketing, sales and business development areas.
    Ms. Benko holds a Masters Degree in Business Administration from the Harvard Business School and a Bachelors of Science degree in Nursing from Wayne State University.
