Total Renal Care Announces Appointment of Douglas Vlchek, Vice President

TORRANCE, Calif., Feb. 1 /PRNewswire/ -- Total Renal Care Holdings, Inc. (NYSE: TRL), the nation's second-largest provider of dialysis services, today announced the appointment of Douglas Vlchek as Vice President. Mr. Vlchek will assist in many areas surrounding operational improvement, but his initial role will be to spearhead the development and implementation of management development programs for all levels of the organization. Mr. Vlchek will work for Total Renal Care half time and will continue to be based in Denver, Colorado.

Mr. Vlchek has over thirty years experience in the dialysis industry, having most recently served as Vice President of Gambro Healthcare, and Vivra Renal Care, where he worked with Kent Thiry and David Barry, Total Renal Care's CEO and President, respectively. He has authored five books and over 200 articles in technical and clinical areas of dialysis as well as quality assurance and quality improvement. He has served on a variety of FDA and HCFA committees for health standards, education, and quality.
