Total Renal Care Announces New Company Name

TORRANCE, Calif., June 5 /PRNewswire/ -- Total Renal Care Holdings, Inc. (NYSE: TRL), today announced that it will be changing its name to DaVita.

"Because we are a new Company in many, many respects, our team wanted to give their Company a new name. DaVita is an approximate translation of the Italian phrases 'to give life' or 'he/she gives life.' Our center administrators voted overwhelmingly for this new name, as it captures so eloquently what we do each day," stated Kent Thiry, Chairman and CEO.

The Company will be going through the necessary steps to implement this change over the next few months.

DaVita (Total Renal Care Holdings, Inc.), based in Torrance, California, is the nation's second-largest provider of dialysis services for patients suffering from chronic kidney failure. The Company owns and operates kidney dialysis centers and home peritoneal dialysis programs domestically in 32 states, as well as Washington, D.C.
