Falcon Physician's Faye Stech Appointed Clinician Experience Vice-Chair of HIMSS Electronic Health Record Association

DENVER, April 26, 2016 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Falcon Physician's Product Manager Faye Stech was recently appointed to the prestigious position of Vice-Chair of the Clinician Experience Workgroup by the EHR Association Membership Committee. The HIMSS Electronic Health Record Association (EHRA) brings together companies that develop, market and support electronic health records (EHRs), to collaborate on issues that impact the EHR industry. The Clinician Experience Workgroup, a subset of the EHRA, focuses on clinician experience and usability. This leadership position will be pivotal in policy positioning and facilitating HIMSS' EHRA workgroups.

"I am proud to serve the EHRA Clinician Experience team in this role. My goal is to improve the EHR experience for providers," said Ms. Stech. "By contributing our guidance to regulatory agencies, we can impact requirements so that they will be more meaningful to physicians."

Ms. Stech and the committee will soon begin helping to write the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) test cases for the next rounds of certifications. The team hopes to make the certifications more relevant to day-to-day activities of physicians. They have also been developing a position on snippets to submit to the Office of the National Coordinator (ONC), again to help improve the overall workflow efficiency of physicians. Finally, they have been working on creating a patient-safety focused usability guide that will help standardize aspects of EHRs. This would not only improve patient safety, but also provide clinicians with a more cohesive experience between EHRs.

Ms. Stech's role as Product Manager for Falcon Physician has allowed her to work toward improved EHR usability for nephrologists over the past two years. She has worked with dozens of providers, studying their workflow and needs in order to improve Falcon tools in order to ultimately benefit care quality. Her new position with the EHR Association utilizes this experience to benefit health care as a whole.
