Dennis W. Pullin
President and Chief Executive Officer, Virtua Health
Dennis W. Pullin is a recognized thought leader and advocate for health equity with more than 30 years of experience in executive leadership positions in hospitals, academic medical centers, physician group practices, and private industry. He currently serves as the president and CEO of Virtua Health, an academic health system in New Jersey offering a full continuum of preventative, primary, ambulatory, acute and tertiary care across more than 400 locations.
Before Virtua Health, Mr. Pullin served as president of MedStar Harbor Hospital, senior vice president of MedStar Health and senior vice president and chief operating officer at MedStar Washington Hospital Center. He also served as vice president of operations and business development at St. Luke’s Episcopal Health System and vice president of acquisitions and development at Symbion Healthcare, Inc.
Mr. Pullin has authored several impactful op-ed articles on topics ranging from rising violence against health care professionals to the life-saving gift of organ donation. He has been recognized for his leadership, industry impact and community engagement by Modern Healthcare, the National Association of Health Services Executives, and several publications serving the northeast U.S.
In 2021, Mr. Pullin was elected to the Board of Directors of Hillenbrand, Inc. He serves on the American Hospital Association Board of Trustees, Economic and Community Advisory Council of the Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia, the United Way of Greater Philadelphia, and the Southern New Jersey Regional Board of Directors.
