    Pamela M. Arway

    Chair of DaVita's Board of Directors and
    Former President of the Japan, Asia-Pacific, Australia region for American Express International, Inc.

    Pamela M. Arway has been one of our directors since May 2009. From 2005 to 2008, Ms. Arway served as the president of the Japan, Asia-Pacific, Australia region for American Express International, Inc., a global payment services and travel company. Ms. Arway joined the American Express Company in 1987, and subsequently served in various capacities, including as chief executive officer of American Express Australia Limited from 2004 to 2005 and as executive vice president of Corporate Travel, North America from 2000 to 2004. Prior to her retirement in October 2008, she also served as advisor to the American Express Company’s chairman and chief executive officer. Since May 2010, Ms. Arway has been a member of the board of directors of The Hershey Company, a chocolate and confectionery company, and since March 2014, she has been a member of the board of directors of Iron Mountain Incorporated, an enterprise information management services company.

    Charles G. Berg

    Former Executive Chair, DaVita Medical Group

    Charles G. Berg has been one of our directors since March 2007.  From November 2016 until December 2017, Mr. Berg served as executive chair of, DaVita Medical Group (“DMG”), our former integrated healthcare business. From 2008 to 2013, Mr. Berg served as executive chairman of WellCare Health Plans, Inc. (“WellCare”), a provider of managed care services for government-sponsored health care programs. Mr. Berg served as non-executive chairman of the board of directors of WellCare from January 2011 until his retirement in May 2013. From January 2007 to April 2009, Mr. Berg was a senior advisor to Welsh, Carson, Anderson & Stowe, a private equity firm. From April 1998 to July 2004, Mr. Berg held various executive positions, including executive vice president-medical delivery, president and chief operating officer with Oxford Health Plans, Inc. (“Oxford”), a health benefit plan provider. He was the chief executive officer when Oxford was acquired by UnitedHealth Group. He then became an executive of UnitedHealth Group and was primarily responsible for integrating the Oxford business. Mr. Berg also currently serves as a member of the Operating Council & Senior Advisory Board of Consonance Capital Partners, a private equity firm.

  • Barbara J. Desoer

    Barbara J. Desoer

    Former Chief Executive Officer, Citibank, N.A.

    Barbara J. Desoer has been one of our directors since October 2015. Ms. Desoer served as the chief executive officer and a member of the board of directors of Citibank, N.A., a wholly owned subsidiary of Citigroup Inc. and a diversified global financial services company, both positions she held from April 2014 through April 2019, and chief operating officer of Citibank, N.A. from October 2013 to April 2014.  Prior to Citibank, N.A., Ms. Desoer spent 35 years at Bank of America, a diversified global financial services company, most recently as president, Bank of America Home Loans, where she led the integration of Countrywide, the largest mortgage originator and servicer in the United States. In previous Bank of America roles, Ms. Desoer served as a Global Technology & Operations executive, an international market-focused position leading teams in the United Kingdom, Asia and Latin America, and president, Consumer Products. Since April 2019, Ms. Desoer has served as chair of Citibank, N.A. and as a member of the board of directors of Citigroup, Inc. Ms. Desoer also has served on the board of directors of various non-profit and privately held corporations.

  • Jason M. Hollar

    Chief Executive Officer and Director, Cardinal Health, Inc.

    Jason M. Hollar has been one of our directors since May 2022. He currently serves as chief executive officer for Cardinal Health, Inc. ("Cardinal"), a global integrated healthcare services and products company where he also serves as a director. Before his election to CEO and appointment as director effective as of September 1, 2022, Mr. Hollar served as chief financial officer of Cardinal since May 2020, leading financial activities across the enterprise including financial strategy, capital deployment, treasury, tax, investor relations, accounting and reporting. Prior to Cardinal, from June 2018 until May 2020, Mr. Hollar served as executive vice president and chief financial officer of Tenneco Inc. ("Tenneco"), a global automotive products and services company, where he was responsible for financial planning and analysis, accounting and reporting, tax, treasury and investor relations for the company. At Tenneco, Mr. Hollar also served as senior vice president, finance from June 2017 to June 2018. From October 2016 to June 2017, Mr. Hollar served as the chief financial officer of Sears Holding Corporation ("Sears"), a holding company for large consumer retailers across the U.S., and as senior vice president, finance from October 2014 to October 2016.

    Gregory J. Moore, M.D., Ph.D.

    Former Corporate Vice President, Microsoft Health & Life Sciences

    Dr. Gregory J. Moore, MD, PhD has been one of our directors since September 2021. Until April 2023, he served as corporate vice president for Microsoft Health & Life Sciences, where he led research and development collaborations that will transform health care experiences. Prior to Microsoft, Dr. Moore served as Google's senior health care leader globally. In this role, he partnered closely with Google teams and the Alphabet companies to guide the development of health care solutions leveraging cutting-edge technology. Dr. Moore is an industry thought leader, driving innovation toward a more transparent, interoperable and AI-driven foundation for health care delivery.

    Dr. Moore is a practicing physician and educator. He is board certified in Diagnostic Radiology, Neuroradiology and Clinical Informatics, and an adjunct clinical professor of radiology at Stanford University School of Medicine. Prior to his leadership roles at Microsoft and Google, Dr. Moore served as the chief emerging technology and informatics officer at Geisinger Health System, where he was also Director of the Institute of Advanced Application.

    He currently serves on the Olink Holding AB Board of Directors.

    John M. Nehra has been one of our directors since November 2000. From 1989 until his retirement in August 2014, Mr. Nehra was affiliated with New Enterprise Associates (‘‘NEA’’), a venture capital firm, including, from 1993 until his retirement, as general partner of several of its affiliated venture capital limited partnerships. After his retirement in August 2014, Mr. Nehra remained a retired special partner with NEA and continued serving on the board of directors of a number of NEA’s portfolio companies. Mr. Nehra also served as managing general partner of Catalyst Ventures, an affiliate of NEA, from 1989 to 2013.

    Chief Executive Officer, DaVita Inc.

    Javier J. Rodriguez is the Chief Executive Officer of DaVita Inc., a global health care provider focused on improving the quality of life for patients through clinical innovation and integrated, personalized care. Mr. Rodriguez is an experienced leader committed to transforming care delivery for patients with kidney disease—from the earliest stages of the disease through transplantation. He is passionate about accelerating the digital transformation and delivering customized care to each patient while lowering costs for the health care system. In more than 20 years with DaVita, he has continued fostering a powerful sense of inclusivity and community among teammates and patients.

    Since joining the company in 1998, Mr. Rodriguez has served in a number of capacities, including leading kidney care operations and payor contracting. Prior to joining DaVita, Mr. Rodriguez worked in finance for Baxter Healthcare Corporation and in operations for CBS Marketing Inc. in Mexico City.

    Mr. Rodriguez has been widely recognized for his leadership by Fierce Healthcare, Modern Healthcare and Hispanic Executive, among others. He serves on the board of directors for Gilead Sciences Inc., a research-based pharmaceutical company, and the Denver Metro Chamber of Commerce. Mr. Rodriguez is one of theCEOs of the world's leading organizations to sign the CEO Action Pledge for Diversity & Inclusion.

    Mr. Rodriguez earned a master’s degree from Harvard Business School and a bachelor’s degree in finance and marketing from Boston College.

  • Adam H. Schechter

    President, Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of the Board, Laboratory Corporation of America Holdings

    Adam H. Schechter has been one of our directors since September 2022. Mr. Schechter has served as Chairman of the Board of Laboratory Corporation of America Holdings, a clinical laboratory company (“LabCorp”), since May 2020, a director since April 2013, and as President and Chief Executive Officer of LabCorp since November 2019. Mr. Schechter previously served as special advisor to the Chief Executive Officer of Merck & Co., Inc., a multinational pharmaceutical company (“Merck”), from January 2019 to July 2019. Prior to that, Mr. Schechter was an Executive Vice President of Merck, where he was a member of Merck’s executive committee, pharmaceutical and vaccines operating committee, and President of Merck’s Global Human Health Division, which includes Merck’s worldwide pharmaceutical and vaccine businesses, from 2010 to 2018. Prior to becoming President, Global Human Health, Mr. Schechter served as President, Global Pharmaceutical Business of Merck from 2007 to 2010. He currently serves as a Board Member for Water.org and an executive board member for the National Alliance for Hispanic Health. In 2022, Mr. Schechter earned the CERT Certificate in Cybersecurity Oversight.

    Former Chief Financial Officer, Sleep Number Corp.

    Wendy L. Schoppert has been one of our directors since July 2023. Ms. Schoppert has more than 30 years of leadership experience, including serving as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Sleep Number Corp. from 2011 to 2014, where she also previously served as Chief Information Officer and led Marketing, Digital, International, and New Channel Development. Prior to joining Sleep Number in 2005, Ms. Schoppert led U.S. Bank’s Private Asset Management team and served as Head of Product, Marketing & Corporate Development for U.S. Bank’s Asset Management division. She began her career in the airline industry, serving in various financial, strategic and general management leadership positions at American Airlines, Northwest Airlines and America West Airlines. Ms. Schoppert is also a member of the boards of The ODP Corporation, Big Lots, Inc., and Bremer Financial Corporation. Ms. Schoppert is a former co-chair of the Minnesota chapter of Women Corporate Directors (WCD), and has also earned the CERT Certificate in Cybersecurity Oversight.

    Phyllis R. Yale has been one of our directors since July 2016. Ms. Yale has been an Advisory Partner with Bain & Company, Inc. (“Bain”), a global management consulting firm, since July 2010. Ms. Yale was a partner with Bain from 1987 to July 2010, and was a leader in building Bain’s healthcare practice. In her role at Bain, Ms. Yale works with healthcare payors, providers, and medical device companies, and frequently advises the world’s leading private equity firms on their investments in the healthcare sector. She has served as a member of the board of directors of several public and private companies in the healthcare sector, and  since November 2019 has served as a member of the board of directors of Bristol-Myers Squibb Company, a global biopharmaceutical company.. Ms. Yale previously served as chair of the board of directors of Kindred HealthCare, Inc., a provider of long-term healthcare services in the United States, and as chair of the board of directors of Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts, a not-for-profit health plan headquartered in Boston, and has served on the board of directors of various other public, non-profit and privately held corporations.
